About Doug McIntosh
Founder of Collaborative Learning Spaces™ in 2011
Doug McIntosh is an educator with 32 years of experience in both special and general education in the San Diego Unified School District and as a presenter at many conferences and workshops. He started his career as a teacher working with students with multiple disabilities and quickly earned a reputation developing assistive technology strategies and devices for his students. He carried that same motivation, innovation and creative spirit in a variety of assignments as a general education teacher and educational technology
resource teacher. Doug has spent much of his career working in Title I schools with magnet schools. He currently works at Mission Bay High School as an International Baccalaureate Technology Integration Teacher.
Doug has been a mentor to many and a friend to thousands of teachers trying to integrate technology into their curriculum. His passions in the last several years have focused on the importance of physical and digital space design in schools. Collaborative Learning Spaces was created for people not satisfied with the traditional teacher presentation of auditory direct instruction with students facing a front teaching wall, all sitting at desks in chairs with little access to digital technologies. We hope you enjoy Collaborative Learning Spaces and can use our services to help create engaging 21st century learning environments in your community.
